Mathew L. Evins, Chairman and Founder

Mathew Evins is the Chairman and Founder of Evins Communications, which has received consistent acclaim for its integrated branding, marketing, and communications programs for legacy, luxury and prestige brands. In addition to the firm’s specialist expertise in travel and hospitality, Evins Communications encompasses four group practices: Digital Content & Integration; Food, Spirits & Wine; Lifestyle and Travel & Hospitality.

Since its inception in 1987, Evins Communications has been consistently recognized for its brand strategies, business insights and creative programming, having made a consequential contribution to the development and growth of numerous icon and innovator brands and businesses, including American Express Centurion and Platinum, Bergdorf Goodman, Cakebread Cellars, Colgin Cellars, Departures Magazine, Exclusive Resorts, Hotels & Resorts of Halekulani, Inspirato, Jet Linx Aviation, Leica Camera, LVMH Watch & Jewelry, Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Marquis Jet, Neiman Marcus, Park Hyatt, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Rosewood Hotel & Resorts, The Knickerbocker Hotel, The Lanesborough, Uniworld River Cruises, Valentino, Vera Wang, Vitamin Water and Wheels Up, amongst many others.

Prior to founding Evins Communications, Mr. Evins previously served as CEO of Pain Therapeutics Corporation, as CEO of Cardiff Consultants, a business and financial strategic consultancy and as a Vice President of Vector Petroleum Corporation. While an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he received a B.A. degree, Mr. Evins created and co-published “The Talisman Report,” which became the world’s leading investment advisory newsletter for the three years of its publication. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, and for more than six years beforehand, Mr. Evins served on the staff of Cornell Medical Center, initially as a Surgical Research Associate in the Cardiovascular Research Laboratory and, subsequently, as Associate Director of the Rogosin Organ Retrieval & Preservation Laboratory.

Mr. Evins is one of the most respected authorities and thought leaders in luxury and luxury hospitality, has lectured at the Cornell Hotel School and NYU’s Graduate School of Business, and has authored numerous articles on luxury and luxury hospitality for such publications as Elite Traveler and HOTELS Magazine. Mr. Evins currently serves on the boards of The International Luxury Hotel Association, Luxury Travel Exchange International, ULTRA Luxury Exchange and the International Hotel Investment Forum. He is also a cofounding board member, Secretary, Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Global Virus Network, a non-profit 501(c)(3) coalition comprised of 57 Centers of Excellence in 33 countries worldwide, working collaboratively to prepare for, defend against and provide an integrated first research response to, existing, emerging and unidentified viruses that pose a clear and present threat to public health, such as COVID-19.

Louise R. Evins, CEO

Louise Evins is CEO of Evins Communications, which she joined in 1997. She directs the firm’s strategy, marketing and development, as well as manages the operations and finance of the business. Under Ms. Evins’ leadership, Evins Communications has become the leading branding, marketing, communications and public relations firm in the luxury and prestige sectors, with specialist expertise in developing integrated multi-platform programs for niche, icon and legacy brands. She instilled an entrepreneurial dynamic into the firm, transforming the practice of public relations into brand marketing and communications while simultaneously  building iconic brands and transformative businesses.

Prior to joining Evins Communications, Ms. Evins established a reputation as an outstanding and innovative specialty retailer in accessories, cosmetics, fashion and jewelry, having served as Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager of Henri Bendel where she was the pioneering and evolutionary force behind the development of such brands as Chloe, Karl Lagerfeld, MAC Cosmetics, Trish MacEvoy and Wolford. Ms. Evins previously led a leveraged buyout, and served as President and COO, of Joshua Slocum, Ltd., building a chain of thirty-five retail stores specializing in women’s apparel, sportswear and accessories. Ms. Evins began her career at Lord & Taylor where she held several senior management and merchandising positions.

Ms. Evins serves as a member of the Fashion Industry Advisory Board of LIM College, which empowers and enables students to become accomplished professionals in the global fashion industry and bridges the divide between academics and real-world experience. She assists and advises in areas such as curriculum, student advocacy and long-range planning, as well as mentor students, guest lecture and provide counsel for new programs or degrees to help LIM College identify emerging areas of study. Ms. Evins also sits on the board of the Dramatists Guild Foundation, a national charity that fuels the future American theater by supporting playwrights, composers, lyricists, and librettists at all stages of their careers through educational programs, awards, grants and stipends as well as emergency grants to aid artists in need. Ms. Evins is also a founding board member of Women’s O.W.N. and the Forbes Executive Women’s Board, amongst others. She received a B.A. degree from Boston University.

 

Jacqueline Long, President

Jacqueline Long is President at Evins, and is a seasoned global communications leader, delivering strategic direction and tangible results for the agency and its clients. Previously, in 2014, Ms. Long served as Vice President of Evins’ Food, Wine and Spirits practices.   

Prior to her return to Evins, Ms. Long served as Vice President, Public Relations & Consumer Engagement at LVMH/Moet Hennessy, a position she established to seamlessly integrate public relations, digital, media, influencer and experiential disciplines, ensuring cross-functional excellence and delivering significant brand growth.  Ms. Long orchestrated luxury brand programs that offered experiences at the speed of culture and pioneered the Hennessy Fellows program in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, for which she was recognized with the first Moet Hennessy “Mission”” award.  She also developed “Unfinished Business,” a charitable initiative that supported thousands of small businesses nationwide with financial, social and human capital.   

In addition to her time at LVMH, Ms. Long has vast agency experience that provided ​her with opportunities to create and manage campaigns for several of the world’s most iconic and renowned brands, including Mercedes Benz, Netflix, Bombay Sapphire, Perrier Jouet, Relais & Chateaux and Williams Sonoma. Ms. Long resides in New York City, serves as a mentor to graduate students and volunteers in her community. 

David Harrison, Executive Vice President

David Harrison is Executive Vice President at Evins Communications and directs the agency’s Brand Content & Integration practice. David combines expertise in traditional marketing, branding and communications with a focus on digital incorporation and optimization, creating successful and award-winning 360-degree campaigns for clients in the lifestyle, wine and spirits, hospitality and entertainment industries. His development of comprehensive and proprietary monitoring and analytics reporting strategies have proven invaluable in new product launches, event planning and crisis communications.

Prior to joining Evins Communications, David developed and implemented new media launches and campaign strategies for numerous brands, both with a boutique wine & spirits agency, as well as on a freelance basis. David’s work has earned Evins Communications an AVA Gold Award, a Telly Bronze Award and two Hermes Awards – gold and platinum, and he is a regular contributor to Forbes as a member of the Forbes Agency Council.

Michelle Kelly, Vice President

Michelle Kelly is a Vice President at Evins and directs the Travel & Lifestyle practice. An exceptional public relations professional, Michelle possesses more than 15 years of specialist expertise in lifestyle, hospitality, and travel. A strategic and entrepreneurial executive with integrated marketing expertise, Michelle provides outstanding corporate communications, media relations, influencer marketing, social media proficiency and leadership to the practice and the agency.

Prior to joining Evins, Michelle’s extensive agency experience included leading distinguished accounts such as AccorHotels, Dream Hotels, MSC Cruises, TOURISM Santa Fe, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood (Guitar Hotel), Loews Hotels, Casa de Campo and Aruba Tourism Authority.
